1956 I.H. PICKUP

A little different kind of project for me. All I’m supposed to do is put it back together and make it drivable. Simple, right? If you’ve ever worked on one of these you know you can’t go to the auto parts store and get many parts for it.

I want to hear it run before I proceed with assembling the rest of the truck. I did a compression check and found 3 cylinders with very little compression. I pulled the head and found 3 exhaust valves stuck open and a blown head gasket. I’ve had the head rebuilt, rebuilt the carburetor, installed new points and plugs. Now the starter is no good… I found a replacement and it’s on the way. As soon as I’m confident that engine doesn’t have to come out, I’ll start putting everything together.
